Getting found and booked as a café or restaurant
Almost nobody visits a restaurant website to browse. They come to check three things: the menu, the hours, and whether they can book. Everything else is decoration.
The venues that fill tables are not the ones with the prettiest sites. They are the ones whose Google listing is complete, current and full of recent photos.
Where cafés & restaurants usually lose it
The menu is a PDF
It will not open properly on a phone, Google cannot read it, and it is out of date within a month. This one thing costs more covers than anything else on a hospitality site.
Hours that cannot be trusted
Wrong public holiday hours on Google send someone to a closed door — and that is the review you get.
Paying commission on your own regulars
Booking platforms are worth it for discovery. Paying a fee on a regular who searched for you by name is not.
Old photos, or none
People choose where to eat with their eyes, in the map results, before they ever reach your site.
What we would do about it
- A real HTML menu, not a PDF — readable on a phone and by Google
- Hours kept accurate everywhere, including public holidays
- Direct booking for people who already know you
- Current photography on your Google Business Profile
- Dietary and allergen information, which people genuinely search for
Questions people in this industry ask
Does a café or restaurant need a website?
A simple one, yes — but your Google Business Profile matters more. Most people decide where to eat inside the map results, then click through only to check the menu, the hours and whether they can book. Get those three right and a small site does the job better than a large one.
Should my menu be a PDF?
No. A PDF is awkward on a phone, slow to open, and largely invisible to search. A menu built as a normal web page can be read instantly, updated in minutes, and appears in results when someone searches for a dish you serve. It is the single highest-value fix on most hospitality sites.
How do restaurants get more bookings without paying commission?
Keep the platforms for discovery, but give people who already know you a direct way to book. Anyone searching your venue by name should land on your own booking form rather than a marketplace charging you a fee for a customer you had already earned.

Tell us where you are up to and you will get an honest answer from someone who has done this work before — including when the answer is that you do not need us yet.
What working with us actually looks like
A fixed price, written down
A free call, then a proposal with the scope and the number on it. No hourly drip, and no invoice that surprises you.
A person replies, not a sequence
We read every enquiry ourselves. If we are not the right fit we will say so and point you somewhere better.
One project manager throughout
The same person from the first call to launch, so you never re-explain the business to somebody new.
Built to bring in work
Enquiries, bookings and sales are the measure. A site that looks good and produces nothing has not done its job.
